RESQ will try to recover JPG files lost to the LoveBug worm.
Your mileage may vary depending on how much the PC has been used since infection...

RESQ is a commercial program. However, the JPG recovery can be done with the free evaluation version.

(From a post in A.C.V, these are Bob Green's instructions on how to proceed with RESQ from Netz Computing)

Brief instructions:
  1. From www.invircible.com/resq.php download the RESQ self extracting archive (resq.exe). Have a floppy disk handy. Run RESQ.EXE and let it create a boot diskette. Restart the computer and boot from the diskette. Run RESQDATA.EXE. Just follow the prompts and let it recover the JPGs (you have to save the recovered files to a partition other than the one you are recovering from). BTW, this program can only recover files from a FAT partition.
  2. After recovering the JPGs, get an up to date anti-virus program and clean out the virus.
  3. Recover the MP3 files with this command, executed from the root directory in a DOS window: ATTRIB -H *.MP3 /S.
  4. Restore the recovered JPG files back to their original locations.

You should get back something like 30% - 70% of the original JPGs, if you haven't used that computer too much in the mean time. The file names are not preserved in the recovery process, so will have to review them one at a time and rename them.
